Hola! I am Yunjoo (Zoe), MSc student in Latin American Studies at St. Cross College.
I hold a BA in English Literature and a BS in Environmental Management from Seoul National University, Korea. During my undergraduate studies, I focused on climate change and its impacts on ecosystems – which led me to serve as a UNV at World Food Programme Cuba country office. There, I gained first-hand experience in initiatives aimed at strengthening the resilience of smallholder farmers to climate change and in multilateral cooperation within the field of international development. I was particularly impressed by Cuba’s approaches to agroecology and sustainable farming. This experience has sparked my passion to gain a deeper understanding about the region. Through MSc in Latin American studies, I aim to further explore pathways toward sustainable agricultural development in Cuba. I am so grateful and excited to take on this academic journey with such inspiring people here at Oxford!
