I was born in New York but grew up in Rome until I moved to the UK at 18 years old. I came here to study Management with Marketing at the University of Bath, where I pursued a year in industry working at Disney in Corporate Communications.
I then decided to change my path and undertake a part-time Master’s in Social Anthropology at the London School of Economics, where I simultaneously worked in Government Relations at Bloomberg.
My studies at the LSE nurtured my passion for Latin America, where I tackled various anthropological debates in the region, specifically rights of nature, indigenous laws, differentiated citizenship and more. This pushed me to grow an all-rounded interest for the area: academically, I wrote my thesis on Brazil’s funk music; personally, I regularly participated in Forro classes (a Brazilian dance), where I was lucky to become a part of a vibrant community.
I am excited to continue exploring my passion for Latin America here in Oxford, and to specifically focus on environmental and indigenous movements in the region.
