Miguel Paolo Rivera is a Ph.D. student at Department of Geography, University College Dublin, Ireland and a graduate researcher for the Digital Economy and Extreme Politics (DeepLab), under the supervision of Prof. Rosana Pinheiro-Machado. At DeepLab, his current research uses ethnography to understand the links between precarious labour, the digital economy, & support for extreme politics in the Global South, particularly in the Philippines and Brazil. Miguel holds a BA & MA in Political Science from the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines and is an Instructor under the Department of Political Science at the same university. His research interests include Platformization, the Far Right, the Global South, Political Theory, Democratization, & Authoritarianism. He is a Recognised Student for the 2026 Hilary Term under the supervision of Dr. Felipe Krause.
