Matheus Cunha is a Political Science PhD Student at the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFPE), having also obtained a MA and BA in Political Science at the same university. His research interests are blame avoidance and attribution, political corruption, and causal inference more generally. His thesis is about whether what elected representatives say (their presentational strategies) is effective at mitigating attributions of blame and improving public support. He is a Fundação de Amparo à Ciência e Tecnologia do Estado de Pernambuco (FACEPE) and Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) fellow.
