Lei Tian is a political economist PhD candidate at Tsinghua University, in China, whose supervisor is professor Fengming Wang. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Engineering Physics from Tsinghua. He will be a Recognised Student at the Latin American Centre for three terms (Michaelmas, Hillary and Trinity terms), under the supervision of Professor Diego Sanchez-Ancochea. The main focus of his research is monetary theory, and now he is working on the relationship between the monetary system and capital accumulation in Latin America. He wants to explain how the monetary system and capital accumulation in Latin America raise inequality and economic problem such as inflation.
