Beatriz is a PhD student at the Faculty of Law of the University of São Paulo (FDUSP), in Brazil. She is a Recognized Student at the Latin American Centre under the supervision of Prof. Andreza de Souza Santos for the Michaelmas Term. She holds a Master’s Degree in Constitutional Law from FDUSP and a Bachelor Degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUCSP). Her thesis title is “Considerations on the Constitutional Boundaries to Judicial Behaviour: post-1988 Brazilian context analysis”, supervised by Prof. Sergio Resende de Barros (FDUSP). The focus of her research are the constraints imposed by the Constitution to the judicial branch in Brazil, including the limits of hermeneutic activity, legal and judicial moralism, judicial activism and the statements of the rule of law.
