Amanda Domingos is Political Science PhD Student at the Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (Recife, Brazil), and holds an MA and BA in Political Science from the same university. Her research interests include public policy, subnational and distributive politics, and research transparency in the social sciences. In her thesis, she focuses on the role of budgetary amendments on the subnational unevenness of policy provision at the local level in Brazil.
She is a Fundação de Amparo a Ciência e Tecnologia do Estado de Pernambuco (FACEPE) and Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) fellow. Domingos is also co-founder of the “Métodos em Pauta” initiative, that seeks to democratize the discussion of social research methods, as well as Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS) catalyst, where she helps to educate and advocate for transparency tools and practices. She is visiting the LAC during Hilary and Trinity Terms 2022, under the supervision of Prof. Andreza de Souza Santos.
