My name is Yuhi Tajima, and I am a career diplomat from Japan. I was born and raised in Spain and moved to Brazil at the age of eleven. I hold degrees in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Tokyo and Waseda University in Japan. Prior to joining Oxford, I worked for two years at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, where I was engaged in issues related to Japan–EU/NATO/OSCE security relations, global women’s empowerment, and the United Nations human rights agenda. I am excited to pursue the MSc to deepen my understanding of the region, with the aspiration of contributing to Japan–Latin America diplomatic relations in the future. My current research focuses on the Latin American Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone and its interactions with nuclear powers such as the United Kingdom, which was involved in the Falklands War in the 1980s.
