OLAGN: Film Screening: Zama (2017, by Lucrecia Martel)

With an introduction from: Benjamin Rymer (DPhil candidate, History) and José Parra (DPhil candidate, Modern Languages).

The OLAGN is proud to announce our first film screening of the academic year this Friday: Zama (Lucrecia Martel, 2017).

Join us at the Latin American Centre for this impressive piece of Argentine cinema. Zama is a period film, tracing the exploits of an eighteenth-century colonial administrator in South America, based on the 1956 existentialist novel by Antonio Benedetto.

Ben Rymer (History) and José Parra (Modern Languages) will present the film, offering their thoughts on this intriguing work of cinema.

After the screening, we will move to the Jericho Tavern for drinks and discussion at around 7pm. If you can't make the screening, feel free to join us at the pub!
