Dr Bhoendradatt Tewarie has lectured at the University of the West Indies, over many years, and recently retired as Principal of its Trinidad campus and as Pro Vice Chancellor of the University. He has continued to write and Palgrave-Mcmillan, published Economic Implications of the Venezuelan Migrant Crisis: Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Community in 2022. With collaborators, he has two books due to be published in 2024, one on sixty years of Trinidad and Tobago Independence and another on China and the Caribbean. Dr Tewarie has published five books and several articles focused on issues related to the Caribbean. A Fulbright Scholar, Dr Tewarie has ventured beyond academia. His achievements span politics and government. He has served two terms as a Cabinet Minister and has served in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.
