James Loxton is a Lecturer in Comparative Politics at the University of Sydney. He holds a PhD in Government from Harvard University. He studies authoritarian regimes, democratisation, and political parties, with a focus on Latin America. He is the co-editor of Challenges of Party-Building in Latin America (Cambridge University Press, 2016) and Life after Dictatorship: Authoritarian Successor Parties Worldwide (Cambridge University Press, 2018). He is currently completing a monograph on conservative party-building in Latin America since the third wave of democratisation. He is currently a Visiting Academic at the LAC.
