Juan Manuel Palacio is Professor of Latin American History at Universidad de San Martín (Argentina) and Researcher at the Argentine National Research Council (CONICET). He received his Ph.D. in History at the University of California at Berkeley. A specialist in Argentine modern rural history, his current research focuses on the legal history of Latin America, with a particular focus on labor law in Argentina and the region. He has published several articles, books, and edited volumes on those subjects, including La paz del trigo (2004), Justicia, política y derechos en América Latina (2007), Labor Justice across the Americas (2017, with Leon Fink), and La justicia peronista, 1943-1955 (2018). He also edited the collection Historia de la provincia de Buenos Aires (2011-2015, 6 volumes). He has been research fellow at Fundación Carolina (Spain), Humboldt Foundation (Germany), Ibero-Amerikansiches Institute (Berlin), El Colegio de México, Desigualdades.net (Berlin), Lateinamerika-Instiut (Freie Universität, Berlin), and the International Research Center “Re:work” (Humboldt Unversität, Berlin), among others.
