Aldair Carlos Rodrigues holds a PhD in History from the Universidade de São Paulo and was postdoctoral fellow at Yale University. He has widely published on the history of the Church and Inquisition in Brazil, as well as on the African diaspora in the South Atlantic, including Limpos de Sangue: Familiares do Santo Ofício, Inquisição e Sociedade em Minas Colonial.
