Julie Gibbings is a Senior Lecturer in the School of History, Classics, and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh. She is the author of Our Time is Now: Race and Modernity in Postcolonial Guatemala (Cambridge University Press, 2020), and editor (with Heather Vrana) of Out of the Shadow: Revisiting the Revolution in Post-Peace Guatemala (University of Texas Press, 2020). Her writing has received prizes, including the James Alexandra Prize and the German History Best Article Prize. She is currently the PI on two AHRC funded grants and fellowships.
