Marina Popea is currently a Research Fellow on the Spaces of Translation project (Nottingham Trent University), which focuses on post-WWII European periodicals and their use of translation. She has also taught Spanish American literature across various Oxford colleges and has recently completed her DPhil about literary translation in a range of Mexican magazines, at Lincoln College. Her thesis examined the crucial role played by translation in the evolution of Mexican letters in the early twentieth century, paying special attention to the imbrication of the literary and political dimensions of this practice. Her work has been published in journals such as the Revista de Estudios Hispánicos and reference book series such as the Benjamins Translation Library.
