Juan Neves-Sarriegui is an Associate Professor at La Salle Ramon Llull University in Barcelona. Before coming to Barcelona, Juan completed his DPhil in History at the University of Oxford where he also served as Fulford Junior Research Fellow, in Somerville College, and as Postdoctoral Researcher in the project ‘Latin America and the Global History of Democracy, 1810-1930’. His first book manuscript - ‘Revolution in the Rio de la Plata: Political Culture and Periodical Press, c. 1780-1830’ – is under contract for publication with Liverpool University Press. His research has appeared – or is forthcoming – in Past & Present, Nuevo Mundo Mundos Nuevos, and the Journal of World History. Juan’s work has been supported by the UK Arts and Humanities Research Council, the Oxford History Faculty, the Norman Hargreaves-Mawdsley scholarship (Wolfson College Oxford), the Norman Fiering Fellowship (John Carter Brown Library), the German Academic Exchange Service (Free University of Berlin), and the Gerda Henkel Foundation.
