Joy Langston is a professor of political Science at the Colegio de Mexico since 2021. Langston is a specialist in political parties and clientelist forms of distribution in Mexico. In 2017, she published a book with Oxford University Press on the PRI’s survival after its defeat in 2000 through its defeat in 2018. She has published on clientelism in Perspectives on Politics, on governors in The Journal of Politics and Legislative Studies Quarterly, and on electoral campaigns in Comparative Politics and Electoral Studies. Currently, she is working on a project that compares urban to rural clientelism in democratic Mexico.
