Caitlin Fitz is associate professor of History at Northwestern University and author of the prizewinning Our Sister Republics: The United States in an Age of American Revolutions (Norton/Liveright, 2016). She has also published in the Journal of American History, The Americas, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, and The Atlantic. Her newest research, supported by the American Council of Learned Societies, explores Latin Americans’ influence on U.S. abolitionism and early civil rights activism.
