Stefan Rinke is a distinguished Professor of History at the Institute for Latin American Studies of the Freie Universität Berlin. Since 2009 he has been the chair of the first Mexican-German Graduate School. Rinke was Visiting Professor at Tufts University, El Colegio de México and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. His interests focus on LatinAmerican history in a global context. His book on the Conquest of Mexicowas recently published by Oxford UP. Rinke’s numerous prize-winning publications cover the history from the conquest to the present. Many have been translated into Spanish, Portuguese, English, French, Turkish, and Chinese.
