After studying languages and linguistics in France and briefly working as an English teacher in Chile, I returned to the UK to pursue an MSc in Social Research at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Although my intention was to use this as a stepping-stone to doctoral research in interactional linguistics, I was unexpectedly captivated by the political sociology of Spanish-speaking South America. While in London, I learnt how to analyse survey data and explored some of the contemporary correlates of political legitimacy and participation across the region.
I am looking forward to using my time at the LAC to deepen my understanding of these topics and further develop my academic skills.
