I am a journalist and political scientist from Lima, Peru. Prior to coming to Oxford I worked as the Opinion coordinator for El Comercio, Peru's oldest and largest newspaper; before that, I was a political and economic reporter for the magazine Semana Económica. I was also a part time lecturer of Politics and International Relations at ESAN University in Lima. Currently, I am a contributing columnist for Americas Quarterly, a US publication that focuses on Latin America. I also hold an MSc in International Relations from the London School of Economics.
My academic interest lies in Peru's democratic consolidation and the factors that have helped or hindered this process, mainly the role of our economic elites in institution building. In my free time I love to swim and enjoy cooking and trying out new recipes.
