I am currently a postgraduate student at Wadham College, and I hold a BA in Spanish & Japanese Studies from the University of Manchester. During my third year, I spent a year abroad, which included five months in Colombia working at two non-profit organisations aimed at improving the lives of discriminated groups in Bogotá.
My time in Colombia deeply impacted the direction of my studies, influencing me to look at Afro-Colombian identity-building in my undergraduate dissertation, and through my studies at Oxford, I hope to further my research into the evolution of various Afro-Latino identities. After completing my postgraduate degree, I look forward to the possibility of being able to return to Colombia and working with the country’s most vulnerable groups. Outside of my studies, you can find me in a dance class or attempting to pick up French.
