Prospective Students
Every year the Centre welcomes students from across the world into its graduate programmes.
The Centre emphasises close faculty-student relations. Individual tutorials are conducted alongside classes and lectures, and students are given the opportunity to meet the faculty socially. The numbers on our three courses are limited, thus facilitating close supervision. Masters students often go on to doctoral research, at Oxford and elsewhere; others find careers in business, finance, consultancy, NGOs and government.
The Centre aspires to be a focal point for everyone with an interest in Latin American Studies. The Centre's library is located here, along with the offices of LAC teaching and support staff. Most classes take place in the seminar room at the LAC. The LAC is a short walk or bicycle ride from the centre of Oxford, where the major university research libraries are located.
The Centre's key teaching staff are: Professor Joe Foweraker, Professor Alan Knight, Professor Leigh Payne, Dr Eduardo Posada-Carbó, Dr Timothy Power and Dr Diego Sánchez Ancochea. The LAC also draws on faculty across the University for its teaching and supervision.
