New volume of the History of Colombia

Edited by Malcolm Deas, LAC Emeritus Fellow, the fourth volume of the history of Colombia, has been published by Taurus in Spain, under the title, Colombia: Mirando hacia adentro, 1930-1960.  The volume includes chapters on the economy (Carlos Caballero), foreign policy (Carlos Camacho), society (Rocío Londoño), culture (Renán Silva) and politics (Malcolm Deas).  This is part of a five volume history of Colombia, edited by Eduardo Posada-Carbó, within a wider project on the history of Latin America sponsored by the Mapfre Foundation in Spain.  The fifth volume, edited by Jorge Orlando Melo, has gone to press.  The collection is accompanied by a history of Colombia through photography, published in 2011.
