Latin American Centre Seminars: ‘Science and religion in Latin America: Why is it different?’
Ignacio Silva is Research Fellow at Harris Manchester College and at the Ian Ramsey Centre for Science and Religion, University of Oxford. He is Director of the IRC’s project “Science, Philosophy and Theology – Latin American Perspectives”. He is the editor of Latin American Perspectives on Science and Religion (Pickering and Chatto, 2014) and author of the paper Science and Religion in Latin America: Developments and Prospects (Zygon 50:2, 2015).He has written extensively on Aquinas, providence and contemporary science. His research interests lie on Latin American developments on the relationship between science, philosophy and theology, and on Aquinas’ philosophy of religion and metaphysics in relation to contemporary scientific challenges.
